RIO DE JANEIRO –Record-Breaker-Neymar-Makes-History-In-Olympics-Football

Neymar scored after only 14 seconds – the fastest goal in Olympic football history – as Brazil thrashed Honduras 6-0 to reach the men’s final in Rio.

Marquinhos and Luan also scored to take them into their fourth Olympic final.Brazil have never won gold in the men’s football competition, losing in the finals in 1984, 1988 and 2012. Saturday’s game will kick off at 21:30 BST and be played in front of a capacity crowd of 78,000 at the Maracana.

THE GAME-Brazil led Honduras 3-0 at half-time but it’s that quickfire goal that will take all the headlines in Rio.

The Hondurans played the ball backward on the kick-off only to have Neymar intercept the lazy pass. He found himself one-on-one with goalkeeper Luis Lopez and deftly got a touch on the ball before Lopez crashed into him in mid-air.

Lopez stopped Neymar but he didn’t stop the ball, as it bounded slowly into the goal for a 1-0 Brazil lead.

By the 79th minute Brazil had made it 5-0 with Luan completing a breath-taking move with a simple tap-in after he had been involved in the elaborate build-up.

And in the final seconds Neymar rolled in an exquisite penalty as Brazil tasted the joy of six in front of their adoring fans.
