Iran says a new military aid deal between the US and Israel has prompted it to bolster its own defences.

During a military parade in Tehran, military hardware including missiles was displayed in the capital.
General Mohammad Hossein Bagheri, head of the country’s armed forces, said the arrangement “will make us more determined in strengthening the defence power of the country”.

The deal, signed last week, will provide the Israeli military with $38bn over 10 years.
Iran, which does not recognise Israel, also held a separate parade in the southern port of Bandar Abbas, where it unveiled a new missile.
